Where it began for each of us.

Sim's Story

After the sudden loss of my father in India, my family immigrated to Canada. In a short period of time, everything changed. We left behind the life we knew and began rebuilding in a new country, supported by family, community, and the hope of a better future.

As a child, I found myself navigating two worlds. At school, I was learning western culture, making friends, and trying to fit in. At home, I was rooted in Indian traditions, values, and expectations. Like many children of immigrant families, I often stepped into roles beyond my years, translating at parent-teacher interviews, helping my family navigate systems, and learning how to carry responsibilities while still figuring out who I was.

Strength isn't about never struggling, it's about continuing forward, even when the path ahead feels impossible to see.

For a long time, many experiences felt normal simply because they were part of our culture and our reality. It wasn't until I became a mother myself that I began to see them differently. I started to recognize the strength, sacrifices, and unspoken struggles that so many women carry every day.

My greatest inspiration has always been my mother. After experiencing profound loss and uncertainty, she showed me what resilience truly looks like. She taught me that strength isn't about never struggling, it's about continuing forward, even when the path ahead feels impossible to see. Watching her rebuild a life for our family shaped the woman, mother, and therapist I am today.

Nav's Story

I know how vulnerable it can feel to share your story because for much of my life, I struggled to share my own.

As a second-generation Punjabi Canadian, I often felt caught between two worlds—honouring my Punjabi roots while trying to find my place in Western society. Like many South Asian daughters, I learned to be the strong one, the responsible one, and the one who put everyone else's needs before my own. Beneath it all, I often felt invisible and alone, longing for a space where I could feel truly seen, heard, and understood.

I often felt invisible and alone, longing for a space where I could feel truly seen, heard, and understood.

Becoming a parent became the catalyst for my own healing journey. Through therapy, self-reflection, and later my training in counselling psychology, I began unlearning old patterns and rediscovering my voice. I learned the importance of boundaries, self-worth, and living in alignment with who I truly am.

As an Occupational Therapist and Clinical Counsellor, I began hearing echoes of my own story in the stories of others. Again and again, I met individuals carrying the weight of cultural expectations, family responsibilities, burnout, guilt, and the quiet loneliness of feeling misunderstood.

For years, I carried a vision of creating the space I once needed—a place where people could feel understood without having to explain the experiences that shaped them.

Our Story

Born from a belief in togetherness.

Saath Wellness was born from a simple belief: no one should have to navigate life's challenges feeling unseen, unheard, or alone. The word Saath means "together," and that is the heart of everything we do.

Our story began at an event that neither of us was entirely sure we wanted to attend. As we shared our journeys and the work we were doing in our own practices, we quickly realized we held a common vision—to create something bigger than ourselves and leave a meaningful legacy for our community.

Inspired by our own experiences and the stories we heard every day, we envisioned a space where South Asian individuals and families could access care that honours their culture, lived experiences, and unique journeys. Today, Saath Wellness is a welcoming, culturally responsive wellness centre where people from all backgrounds can find support, connection, and a sense of belonging.

“Because sometimes the most powerful part of healing is realizing you no longer have to do it alone and healing together is transformative.”
